We regret to announce the death of Torleif Trones on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 93. Surrounded by his family. He served in Italy, London, France and was part of the liberation of Holland during World War 2. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 85. He enjoyed gardening, travelling and wood working. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Noëlla, his children; Elsie Arseneault (Norbert) of Kapuskasing, Gregg (Rosanne) of Timmins and Mark (Manuela) of Winnipeg, one sister; Dagmar Hooper of Kapuskasing, seven grandchildren; Koren, Kim, Angie, Tyler, Ryan, Keith and Jennifer, as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by six siblings; Betty, Nora, Hermes, Olaf, Harold and Arthur. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13th at Royal Canadian Legion at 11:00 a.m. with Legion Chaplin Anne Stenabaugh officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. ©
