Obituary for Pierre Bédard

C’est avec regret que nous annonçons le décès de Pierre Bédard le 2 février 2018 dans la suite d'hospice de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner à l’âge de 70 ans. Pierre était un homme dévoué à sa famille, avec laquelle il aimait passer du temps, et qui était très fier de ses petits-enfants. Dans ses temps de loisir, il aimait aller à la pêche, travailler dans son atelier de menuiserie, et faire du bénévolat. Pierre a œuvré pendant 38 ans pour le compte de la Spruce Falls, comme ingénieur-mécanicien. Suite à sa retraite, il s’est mis à voyager et a passé 10 ans à explorer l’ensemble du Canada dans sa caravane motorisée, accompagné du grand amour de sa vie.

Il manquera grandement à son épouse Alice; ses enfants, Estelle Bérubé (Daniel) de Kapuskasing et Donald (Brenda Chartrand) de Sault Ste. Marie; ses cinq petits-enfants : Mélanie, Isabelle, Miguel, Karelle et Haylee; de même que ses deux frères : Michel Bédard (Adeline) de Moonbeam et Daniel (Denise) de Kapuskasing; ainsi que deux sœurs, Suzanne Lanthier de Cold Lake, AB et Patricia Bédard d’Edmonton, AB. Il fut prédécédé par ses parents, Jacqueline et Philippe; et une sœur, Madeleine Blais.

Pierre reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le vendredi 9 février de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00. Le service funéraire aura lieu le samedi 10 février à 11h00, dans la chapelle du Salon Funéraire Guenette. Comme témoignage de sympathie, on sera très reconnaissant de dons au Fonds des enfants du Corridor du Nord, ou à Dog Guides Canada. ©



We regret to announce the death of Pierre Bédard on February 2, 2018 in the Hospice Suite at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 70 years. Pierre was a family man who loved to spend time with his family and took great pride in his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, working in his woodshop, and volunteering. Pierre was a mechanical engineer with Spruce Falls, where he dedicated 38 years of service. After his retirement, he took up travelling and spent 10 years exploring all of Canada in his motorhome with the love of his life by his side.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Alice; his children, Estelle Bérubé (Daniel) of Kapuskasing, Donald (Brenda Chartrand) of Sault Ste. Marie; his five grandchildren: Mélanie, Isabelle, Miguel, Karelle and Haylee; as well as two brothers: Michel Bédard (Adeline) of Moonbeam and Daniel (Denise) of Kapuskasing; and two sisters, Suzanne Lanthier of Cold Lake, AB and Patricia Bédard of Edmonton, AB. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacqueline and Philippe; and one sister, Madeleine Blais.

Pierre will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Friday, February 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Northern Corridor Children’s Fund or Dog Guides Canada would be greatly appreciated. ©
