Obituary for Alfreda Thompson

Alfreda  Thompson
We regret to announce the death of Alfreda Thompson on December 3, 2014 at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 90 years. She served as a Wren in the Women’s Royal Canadian Navy. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, as well as knitting and crafting. She is survived by her children: Michael husband of Patricia, Darlene Benson wife of Dennis and Sheila Campbell wife of Ken all of Kapuskasing; six grandchildren: David, Debbie, Craig, Melanie, Kevin and Jeremy; six great-grandchildren: Emily, Gabrielle, Madison, Avery, Sadie and Anthony; one brother, Goeffrey Hutton; as well as one sister: Elsie Haughton of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; and her brothers: Ken, Harold and Lorne Casson. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kapuskasing Community Church (United Church site) with Reverend James Ko officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.


Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès d’Alfreda Thompson le mercredi 3 décembre 2014 à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner à l'âge de 90 ans. Elle a servi comme auxiliaire (Wren) du Service féminin de la Marine royale du Canada. Comme passe-temps, elle aimait jardiner (surtout des fleurs), tricoter et faire du bricolage. Elle laisse pour pleurer sa perte ses enfants: Michael époux de Patricia, Darlene Benson épouse de Dennis et Sheila Campbell épouse de Ken tous de Kapuskasing; six petits-enfants: David, Debbie, Craig, Melanie, Kevin et Jeremy; six arrière-petits-enfants: Emily, Gabrielle, Madison, Avery, Sadie et Anthony; un frère, Goeffrey Hutton; ainsi qu’une sœur: Elsie Haughton de Winnipeg. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux, Lloyd; et ses frères: Ken, Harold et Lorne Casson. Un service commémoratif aura lieu le lundi 8 décembre à 10h30 en l'Église communautaire de Kapuskasing (Église unie de Kapuskasing) avec Révérend James Ko comme célébrant. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à la Fondation canadienne du cancer du sein.
