Obituary for Allen Anderson

Allen Anderson
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Allen Anderson at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 83. Allen was born in Inwood, Manitoba on April 6, 1935. As a young child his family relocated to Kapuskasing where he spent the majority of his life. At 16 years of age, he started working at Spruce Falls Pulp and Paper as a mail boy, earned his second class Stationary Engineer Certificate, and progressed to foreman in the boiler room. After 42 years of employment, he retired in 1991 as a well respected Assistant Superintendent.

Allen will always be remembered for his kind heart and devoted love of his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 ½ years, Jeanine (née Lacroix), his sons: Dan Anderson (late Gail) of Maple Ridge BC, Barry-Mark (Pauline Kelley) of Alberta, James (late Renée) of Kapuskasing, Claude Valliere (Suzanne Desroches) of Timmins, and his daughter-in-law, Carol Thomas (late Jim) of Ottawa.
Remembering him also are his brothers: Frank (Aini) of Burlington, John (Martha), and Howard (Fleurette) of Kapuskasing, one sister, Lila Anderson of Sudbury and one sister-in-law, Irena Lacroix (late Phil) of Kapuskasing. He was beloved Grandpa to Jennifer Anderson-Schmidt (Warren) & Jacob Thomas both of Ottawa, Melissa Anderson (Stacey Ruel) of Sudbury, Michael Anderson of Kapuskasing, Sierra & Eric Anderson of Cornwall, Sean Roosen (Sylvie Prud’Homme) of Montreal and Nicole Roosen of British Columbia. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Katharina Schmidt, Tate Anderson, Sophie Ruel, Zoé & Sasha Roosen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by his son Garry Anderson, his parents Alvilda and Alstrup Anderson and his brother Raymond.

At Allen’s request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Darren Rich and the nursing staff at Sensenbrenner Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Allen and his family during his short stay. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
