Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Barbara Nichol can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Barbara Nichol

(Member of the Catholic Women’s League and a Volunteer with the Sensenbrenner Hospital Ladies Auxilliary, Kapuskasing, Ontario)
Unexpectedly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday June 8, 2014
Barbara, beloved wife of the late William. Loving mother of James, Debora & her husband John Gilpin and Keith & his wife Sara. Loving grandmother of Hayden, Grace and Maeve Nichol and Sarah Gilpin. Fondly remembered by her siblings Jack Olford, Catherine Hopper, Gertrude Olford, Tom Olford & his wife Joanne, Robert Olford and by her sister-in-law Madeline Olford. Predeceased by her siblings Norman Olford, Marion Christensen, Thelma Olford and by her sister-in-law Ghislaine Olford.
Barbara, a life-time resident of Kapuskasing, Ontario will be affectionately remembered by her relatives as ‘Santa Barbara’ for her love of gift giving. She enjoyed family gatherings and cherished her time spent with her extended family, including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at the Guenette Funeral Home, Kapusaksing Thursday July 31, 2014 from 7 - 9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Friday August 1, 2014 at the St. Patrick's Church, Kapuskasing with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.
