We regret to announce the death of Barbara Reimer, peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the North Centennial Manor at the age of 84. Barbara started her nursing career at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in 1958 and in 1966 started teaching at Kapuskasing District High School until her retirement in 1991. She was a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society, a member of both the Jubilee Singers and the Kapuskasing United Church Choir as well as an active member of the Kapuskasing United Church. She was able to fulfil her retirement dream living at Remi Lake for 20 years. She is survived by her husband Jon, three daughters, Sheila Bennici-Clendinnen (Joseph) of Winnipeg, Rhonda Reimer (Robert Baker) of Sudbury and Beverly Keating (Daniel) of Kapuskasing, one sister, Joyce Griffith of Nepean, seven grandchildren, Robin, Elizabeth (Rahulan), Emma, Sam, Mary (Eric), Jane and Adam, one great-granddaughter, Evelyn as well as her honorary grandchildren, Alex, Alexandra and Joseph. She was predeceased by her first husband, George Clendinnen, her parents, Muriel and Eldon Hornbrook and one brother, Eldon Hornbrook. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13th at the Kapuskasing Community Church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend James Ko officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sensenbrenner Hospital for the purchase of a CT-Scan would be greatly appreciated. ©

Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Barbara Reimer, paisiblement le dimanche 7 octobre au Manoir North Centennial à l’âge de 84 ans. Barbara a lancé sa carrière comme infirmière à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner en 1958. Puis, en 1966 elle a commencé à enseigner à l’école secondaire Kapuskasing District High School jusqu'à sa retraite en 1991. Elle fut bénévole pour la Société canadienne du cancer, membre des Kapuskasing Jubilee Singers et la chorale de l’église Unie, étant une paroissienne très impliquée dans son église. Elle a réussi à vivre son rêve de retraite au Lac Rémi pendant 20 ans. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux Jon, trois filles, Sheila Bennici-Clendinnen (Joseph) de Winnipeg, Rhonda Reimer (Robert Baker) de Sudbury et Beverly Keating (Daniel) de Kapuskasing, une soeur, Joyce Griffith de Nepean, sept petits-enfants, Robin, Elizabeth (Rahulan), Emma, Sam, Mary (Eric), Jane et Adam, une arrière-petite-fille, Evelyn, ainsi que ses petits-enfants honoraires, Alex, Alexandra et Joseph. Elle fut prédécédée par son premier époux, George Clendinnen, ses parents, Muriel et Eldon Hornbrook et un frère, Eldon Hornbrook. Un service commémoratif aura lieu le samedi 13 octobre à 13h00 en l’église Kapuskasing Community Church avec le Révérend James Ko. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille serait reconnaissante des dons à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner pour l’achat d’un tomodensitomètre. ©
