Curling bonspiels was one of them..her.eating too many olives and getting sick and wearing long Johns in the motel room!The other memory of her is Dave and Bertha doing their best to put up cheap wall paper in the curling club bar and he hated putting up wall paper but he couldn't say no to Bertha! So many good and funny memories! RIP my good friend and don't forget your long johns and curling broom! This is not goodbye but will see you again!

Condolence: During our years living in Kapuskasing, Bertha was top of the list of those we knew as devoted, but fun-loving citizens. Having attended a provincial conference for what is now Community Living where she met the President of the Association, a very dynamic and caring school principal in North York, Bertha offered an invitation to him to visit Kapuskasing. His response was that he would accept and that he had a place where he knew he had an open invitation to stay: with the Weaver family. He and his young son did, in fact, visit. His son, Andrew attended classes at DJPS with his host, Robert Weaver while father, Jim Montgomerie was escorted to Edgewood as well as St Pat's and DJ by his good friend and colleague, Robert's dad, where he addressed the students with a personal message about the value of human dignity in each and every person, before going on air at CKAP with Bertha. Just one of many memories involving Bertha. Our sincere sympathy to her family and to her best friends of long standing.
