Claire (Meme) Papineau passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 1, 2016 at Extendicare Kapuskasing at the age of 81 years. Claire worked for many years as a Travel Agent and also enjoyed camping. Affectionately known as Meme, she was a loving person who enjoyed taking care of everyone she met. She was always friendly and smiling, and everyone adored her.

She will be greatly missed by her sons: Kenneth Caruk (Wanda) and Dennis Caruk; her special girl, Denise Lozier; six grandchildren: Charlotte Bumstead (Jim), Lori Lugo (Jaime), Crystal Caruk, Ken Caruk, Pam Matthews (Bryan), and Taryn Hancock (Allan); eleven great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Patrick), Ashley, Josh, Noah, Blake, Calvin, Ethan, Quinton, Reid, Sage, and Ezra; two brothers: Michel Lapierre (Lise), and Jean-Yves Lapierre (Lola); as well as two sisters-in-law: Shirley Toal, and Rollande Hachey; and one brother-in-law: Gerry Papineau (Sue). She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard (Pepe); and one son, Alan.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at St. Patrick's church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. ©

Elle fut prédécédée par son époux, Gérard (Pepe); et un fils, Alan.

La Célébration Eucharistique aura lieu le mercredi 6 juillet, en l'église St. Patrick à 10h30 avec Père Hervé Sauvé comme célébrant. L'inhumation des cendres suivra au Cimetière de Kapuskasing. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer ou la Fondation des maladies du coeur. ©
