Obituary for / Nécrologie pour Edythe Lindberg
Edythe Lindberg passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 93 years.
Edythe is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harry Lindberg; her three sons: Earl (Sylvie Hebert), David (Bobbi-Ann), and Paul Lindberg; as well as two grandsons: Ryan, and William (Ashley); and one great-grandson, Wesley. Edythe is also survived by two of her sisters: Mary, and Grace.
Edythe was predeceased by her other siblings: Harry, Irene, and Myrtle.
Born in southern Ontario, Edythe became an RNA. She first moved to Smooth Rock Falls to serve in the local hospital for a few years. She married in 1957, raised a family, got involved in the Kapuskasing United Church and the community. After the children got older, Edythe returned to the workforce at North Centennial Manor, retiring from the Manor as Head of Housekeeping.
Retirement only moved Edythe to the next phase of her busy schedule: gardening, blueberry picking, fishing with her husband, quilting, and volunteering at the Kapuskasing Food Bank. As her health diminished, and as fate would have it, Edythe became a resident of the Manor, where she had worked for so long serving others.
The Lindberg family is very thankful for the exceptional care, love and support the North Centennial Manor staff provided Edythe throughout her stay; as well as the frequent and uplifting visits from Inez and Janet, members of Edythe’s church.
Edythe will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2, 2023 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and a celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Sara Lauzon as celebrant. Burial of her ashes will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the North Centennial Manor would be greatly appreciated. ©

Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux depuis 65 ans, Harry Lindberg; ses trois fils : Earl (Sylvie Hebert), David (Bobbi-Ann), et Paul Lindberg; deux petits-fils : Ryan et William (Ashley); ainsi qu'un arrière-petit-fils, Wesley. Edythe laisse également deux sœurs : Mary et Grace.
Edythe fut prédécédée par son frère et ses sœurs : Harry, Irene et Myrtle.
Née dans le sud de l'Ontario, Edythe est devenue infirmière auxiliaire et a déménagé à Smooth Rock Falls, où elle a travaillé à l'hôpital local pendant quelques années. Elle s'est mariée en 1957, a élevé une famille et s'est impliquée dans l'Église Unie de Kapuskasing, et dans la communauté. Les enfants devenus grands, Edythe est retournée sur le marché du travail, au Manoir North Centennial, où elle a pris sa retraite en tant que chef de l'entretien ménager.
La retraite a permis à Edythe de passer à l’étape suivante de ses occupations : le jardinage, la cueillette de bleuets, la pêche avec son mari, la courtepointe et le bénévolat à la Banque alimentaire de Kapuskasing. Au fur et à mesure que sa santé diminuait, le sort a voulu qu’Edythe devienne résidente du Manoir, où elle a travaillé si longtemps au service des autres.
La famille Lindberg est très reconnaissante envers le personnel du Manoir North Centennial pour les soins exceptionnels, l'amour et le soutien qu'on a apportés à Edythe tout au long de son séjour, de même que les visites fréquentes et encourageantes d'Inez et de Janet, membres de son église.
Edythe reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le samedi 2 septembre à partir de 9h00 et une célébration de sa vie suivra à 11h00 avec Sara Lauzon comme célébrante. L'inhumation de ses cendres suivra au Cimetière de Kapuskasing. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons au Manoir North Centennial comme témoignages de sympathie. ©
