Nous regrettons d’annoncer le décès de Gaston Dagenais, à l'âge de 81 ans, le jeudi 29 février 2024, à Horizon Santé-Nord de Sudbury. Gaston était un travailleur dévoué, qui était toujours en train de bricoler. Il était mécanicien de profession, ce qui fut aussi un passe-temps dans les dernières années de sa vie. Gaston avait l'esprit d'entrepreneuriat et, au fil des ans, il a possédé ou participé à plusieurs commerces. Au fil des ans, il a joui de conduire des autocars et voyager; faire du bénévolat auprès des Kap Snow Rovers; être membre du conseil d’administration de La Forge; et, surtout, faire des randonnées en motocyclette. Gaston avait un faible pour les animaux, et il aimait particulièrement les chats, dont il trouvait toujours moyen d’en parler dans ses conversations.
Gaston laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Chantal Lepage; sa fille, Jennifer Zunic (Frank) de Kitchener; ses petits-enfants : Samantha, Jameth, Katlynn, et Jared; sa belle-fille, Jennifer Silk; ainsi que ses frères et sœurs : Gaëtan (Joyce) d'Ottawa, Diane Proulx (Gerald) de White River, Jeannine Dagenais de C.B., Jacques (Carole) de Kapuskasing, et Raymond (Joanne) de Val-Rita; ses belles-sœurs : Renate, Micheline, et Léonie Dagenais; son grand ami et fils "adoptif" Rick Marin (Tessa) et leur enfants : Rissa et Christian; ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, et bons amies / amies.
Gaston fut prédécédé par ses enfants : Claude et Malcom; ses parents, Lorenzo et Pierrette Dagenais; et trois frères : Jean-Guy, Roland, et Armand Dagenais.
Gaston reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le jeudi 7 mars 2024, de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h. La Célébration Eucharistique aura lieu le vendredi 8 mars, à 10h30, en l'église Immaculée-Conception, avec Père Sébastien Groleau comme célébrant. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons à La Forge comme témoignages de sympathie.

We regret to announce the passing of Gaston Dagenais, at the age of 81 years, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Gaston was a hard worker who was always tinkering with something. He was a mechanic by trade, but it was also a hobby in his later years. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and, over the years, owned or participated in several businesses. Gaston enjoyed driving coach buses and traveling; volunteering for the Kap Snow Rovers; serving on the board of La Forge; and, especially, riding his motorcycle. Gaston had a gift for animals, and was particularly fond of cats, which he always brought into his conversations.
Gaston leaves in mourning his wife, Chantal Lepage; daughter, Jennifer Zunic (Frank) of Kitchener; grandchildren: Samantha, Jameth, Katlynn, and Jared; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Silk; as well as his brothers and sisters: Gaëtan (Joyce) of Ottawa, Diane Proulx (Gerald) of White River, Jeannine Dagenais of B.C., Jacques (Carole) of Kapuskasing, and Raymond (Joanne) of Val-Rita; sisters-in-law: Renate, Micheline, and Léonie Dagenais; his great friend and "adopted" son, Rick Marin (Tessa); and their children: Rissa and Christian; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Gaston was predeceased by his children: Claude and Malcom; his parents, Lorenzo and Pierrette Dagenais; and three brothers: Jean-Guy, Roland, and Armand Dagenais.
Gaston will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Eucharistic Celebration will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at the Immaculate-Conception Church, with Father Sébastien Groleau as celebrant. The family would be very grateful for donations to La Forge as expressions of sympathy.
