We regret to announce the death of Genowefa Karpa on January 16, 2019 at North Centennial Manor at the age of 98 years. Genowefa was an avid gardener who maintained abundant vegetable and flower gardens, she was an excellent cook who never needed to use a recipe and in her spare time, she enjoyed knitting. Although she was a homemaker and truly enjoyed being at home, she loved to stop and talk to acquaintances whenever she was out and about.

She is survived by one son, Edward (Micheline) of Kapuskasing; four grandchildren: Brent, Randy, Patrick and Steve; and one daughter-in-law; Isabelle Karpa. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam; and one son, Richard.

Genowefa Karpa will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Friday, January 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Father Fernand Villeneuve officiating. Spring burial will be held at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. ©

Genowefa était une jardinière passionnée qui maintenait d’abondants jardins de fleurs et de légumes, elle était une cuisinière excellente qui n’avait jamais besoin de recettes, et comme passe-temps, elle aimait tricoter. Elle était une femme de foyer qui aimait vraiment être à la maison ; par contre, elle adorait arrêter pour jaser avec ses connaissances lorsqu’elle faisait une sortie.

Elle laisse dans le deuil un fils, Edward (Micheline) de Kapuskasing; quatre petits-enfants: Brent, Randy, Patrick et Steve; et une belle-fille, Isabelle Karpa. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux, Adam; et un fils, Richard.

Genowefa Karpa reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le vendredi 18 janvier de 14h à 16h et à partir de 18h30. La Célébration Eucharistique suivra à 19h30 dans la chapelle du salon funéraire avec Père Fernand Villeneuve comme célébrant. L’inhumation printanière aura lieu au Cimetière de Kapuskasing. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à la Société Alzheimer. ©
