Obituary for Gordon Wilson

Gordon Wilson
We regret to announce the death of Gordon Wilson on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Extendicare Kapuskasing at the age of 77. Gord loved bowling, camping, fishing, playing horseshoes and watching curling on television. He loved being surrounded by his grandchildren, teaching them how to fish and building things with them. Gord was a man of few words and was very soft spoken but enjoyed being surrounded by people. In his younger years, he was employed for Epletts and Pepsi in New Liskeard and retired from Northern Telephone after 30 years of service in Kapuskasing. He is survived by his wife Lucille of Kapuskasing, his daughters, Tammy Maffey (Bill) of Kenora and Susan Duke (Jason) of Ennismore, his siblings, May Waugh (Doug), Crystal McNair (Rodney) of New Liskeard, Sandra Maguire (Garry) of Port Elgin, Thomas (Lucille) of Kapuskasing and Norman (Lita) of Calgary, four grandchildren, Connor, Carson, Alexa and Kaley, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Velma and Thomas Wilson, two brothers, Bryan and Gerald. Gordon Wilson will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 19th at Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Spring burial to follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Extendicare Kapuskasing Resident's Fund would be greatly appreciated. ©
