Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Hubert Bernard le dimanche 7 février 2016 à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner à l'âge de 76 ans. Comme passe-temps, Hubert aimait aller à la pêche, et faire des travaux de mécanique; son plaisir était de travailler sur ses vieux tracteurs et faire de la restauration d'ancienne machinerie de ferme.

Il laisse pour pleurer sa perte son épouse, Marie-Ange; ses enfants; Lucie Bernard de Port Colborne, Dominique Bernard époux de Vanessa de Smooth Rock Falls, Lucette Bernard, Luc Bernard époux de Susanne, Albert Bernard, et Aurore Bernard tous de Opasatika; onze petits-enfants: Francis Caron, Julie Bernard, Ghislain Bernard, Angèle Caron, Patrice Deslauriers, Josée Bernard, Marie Bernard, Melissa Bernard, Maxime Lallier, Brody Bernard et Mackenzie Bernard; neuf arrière-petits-enfants: Jacynth, Jonathan, Jordan, Madison, Grace Lynn, Austin Brent, Wyatt, Hunter, et Trey; ainsi qu'une soeur: Odile Lachapelle de Marathon. Il fut prédécédé par une petite-fille: Jennifer Deslauriers; un arrière-petit-fils: Tyson Lanteigne; ses parents: Albert et Catherine Bernard; cinq frères: Denis, Alexandre, Conrad, Émilien et Eddy; et quatre soeurs: Irma Veilleux, Rachel Martel, Anna-Marie Binette, et Régina Bernard.

La Célébration Eucharistique aura lieu le samedi 13 février, en l'église St-Antoine-de-Padoue à 10h30 avec Diacre Jean Beausoleil comme célébrant. L'inhumation printanière des cendres suivra au Cimetière d'Opasatika. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer. ©


We regret to announce the death of Hubert Bernard on February 7, 2016 at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 76 years. In his spare time, Hubert enjoyed fishing and working on machines; he especially enjoyed working on his old tractors and restoring old farm equipment.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marie Ange; his children; Lucie Bernard of Port Colborne, Dominique Bernard husband of Vanessa of Smooth Rock Falls, Lucette Bernard, Luc Bernard husband of Susanne, Albert Bernard, and Aurore Bernard tous of Opasatika; eleven grandchildren: Francis Caron, Julie Bernard, Ghislain Bernard, Angèle Caron, Patrice Deslauriers, Josée Bernard, Marie Bernard, Melissa Bernard, Maxime Lallier, Brody Bernard, and Mackenzie Bernard; nine great-grandchildren: Jacynth, Jonathan, Jordan, Madison, Grace Lynn, Austin Brent, Wyatt, Hunter, and Trey; as well as one sister: Odile Lachapelle of Marathon. He was predeceased by his granddaughter: Jennifer Deslauriers; one great-grandson: Tyson Lanteigne; his parents: Albert and Catherine Bernard; five brothers: Denis, Alexandre, Conrad, Émilien and Eddy; and four sisters: Irma Veilleux, Rachel Martel, Anna-Marie Binette, and Régina Bernard.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13th at St-Antoine-de-Padoue church at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Jean Beausoleil officiating. Spring burial will be held at the Opasatika Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. ©
