Condolences

Condolence From: Barb Anderson
Condolence: What a shock to see a picture of someone you haven't seen since he was in high school and know that Jim continued to march to his own drummer right to the end. I lived next door the Croteau's and am still in touch with his Mom and sister Louise, who were my babysitters and now are lifelong friends. My condolences for them and Chris and the rest of the family are heartfelt. It sounds like Jim was one Kap's treasures.

Condolence: I was so shocked to see James' obituary. My sincere condolences to the family and to the town for losing such a treasure. I have been a friend on facebook for several years and had the pleasure of meeting him in person a couple of years ago while in Kap. Every time I come back to Kap I look forward to seeing him for a minute, catching up, and finding out about his latest project in keeping Kap beautiful. James, you will be missed, rest in peace.

Condolence: Jim's passing is a huge loss for so many. His continous work at promoting the history and amenities of Kap kept me informed and interested in my home town's life and loves. I will miss you, Jim Crow.

Condolence: When ever I went back to Kap., cousin Jimmy was always someone I enjoyed seeing and getting one of his big hugs! He was always a character, and that is what made him who he was. Over these last number of years with his postings for Kap and the Crawford Family posts he kept everyone connected and closer together. We will miss you Jimmy! My deepest condolences to Aunty Agatha, Tim, Louise, Christine, Jims son and daughter and Granddaughter, and all your families.

Condolence: What a shock! I'm sorry I didn't have the opportunity to visit with my Cousin James for at least 30 years, due to living so far away, but am grateful to have been able to stay in touch via his daily posts on Facebook. Kap has lost a great ambassador, and his family has lost a patriarch.

Condolence: I was shocked to hear of Jim's sudden passing. I knew him at KDHS - 69-72 and remember him as already marching to his own drummer. I looked forward to reading his postings about the goings on in Kap as I have been gone for so long, and I was looking forward to meeting him again next summer at the reunion. He will be sorely missed. My heartfelt sympathies to all his family and friends.

Condolence: One off my first memories of Jim was when I first entered high school at KDHS it was time to elect the student body president. While sitting in the cafeteria there came such a clamor in the area surrounding it ,referred to back then as the common area.Well it was Jim leading his big entourage around and through the caf. banging drums, tooting horns etc. as he campaigned ! Even back then he was there for the people wanting to make a difference. If I recall correctly he didn`t win as there was a large field of candidates to split the vote.I believe Nipper was re-elected. Just a memory I`d like to share as we remember our friend James. My heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends.

Condolence: Jim was a contributor, a person who found great satisfaction in promoting and celebrating his community. For example, the Covid-19 Helping Hands Facebook page brought together those willing to assist with those who could benefit from some help. This movement was applauded by Barrack Obama as care-mongering, the antithesis of fear-mongering. In a Tweet, the former president was essentially highlighting Jim's purpose and his leadership. To Obama, people like Jim are "a great example of the kind of community spirit that we need to get through this—a spirit that we can hopefully learn to instill more of into our lives, workplaces, civic institutions, and government once the crisis has passed." While we mourn the loss of our friend, Jim would have wanted each of us to instill more of that spirit of community that he championed. That will be his legacy.

Condolence: Jimmy was my big brother, and somewhat of an enigma to me. He taught me from an early age to be a free will. He also taught me how to target shoot! He marched to the beat of his own drum and made no apologies. He truly loved his family, friends, and community. No one was a stranger to him. I felt like he was all of the above and then some! He did us proud. Everyone who knew him and loved him also helped shape him and for that, I will be forever grateful. With that said, 'Thank You!' XO Chrissy Croteau
