It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved James “Jim” Piche, on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the age of 84, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was at his happiest while at the lake fishing and in the bush hunting. He enjoyed playing cribbage (he loved winning); working in his garage (he could fix anything); and spending time with friends and family (always adding his two cents’ worth with his sharp wit). He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren (best storyteller); and watching them play hockey (proudest grandpa you will ever know). Jim worked at Tembec Spruce Falls for 35 years.
Jim is survived by Colette, his devoted wife of over 62 years; and his three children: Nicole (Tom) of Geraldton, Steve (Judy) of Kapuskasing, and Ken (Kelly) of Kapuskasing. He leaves in mourning eight grandchildren: TJ, Cameron, Sadie (Hayden), Chantale (Paul), Kelsey, Jessie, Ashley and Macy; and two great-grandchildren: Emma, and Olivier. Jim is also survived by his sister, Sandy.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, George and Carolyn; two brothers: Mac and Donny; and four sisters: Catherine, Aldine, Dodie, and Muriel.
Jim was a compassionate and caring man. He was an incredible role model and Jim will be missed by all who knew him. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. A celebration of life will take place in the spring in his honour.
Jim’s family would like to thank nurse Line (VON); Dr. Plamondon and Team; and PSW Kelly for their dedication and compassion.
As Jim was an animal lover, the family feels it would be fitting for donations in his memory to be made to Animal Rescue of Kapuskasing (ARK) or Want A Pet (Greenstone Helping Paws). ©
