Obituary for / Nécrologie pour Jeannine Chainé
C’est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Jeannine Chainé (née Aubin), à l’âge de 89 ans, le 23 décembre 2022. Jeannine nous a quitté paisiblement au foyer Extendicare de Kapuskasing. Elle se retrouvera enfin aux côtés de son tendre époux Gilles, et de son fils Michel.
Jeannine laisse dans le deuil sa fille Francine (Marc Piché) de Kapuskasing et son fils Denis (Elizabeth La Forest) d’Ottawa. Lui survivent également, ses petits-enfants qu’elle adorait : Stéphane Piché et Annabelle Piché (Eric Vachon) de Kapuskasing, Isabelle La Forest-Chainé et Louis La Forest-Chainé d’Ottawa, Daniel La Forest de Montréal, et Illiana Rayner de Stayner. Elle adorait également ses deux magnifiques arrière-petites-filles Julia et Mia. Jeannine laisse aussi derrière elle sa belle-famille Chainé qu’elle affectionnait profondément, et plusieurs neveux et nièces avec qui elle entretenait des liens étroits, et dont elle était fort reconnaissante de leur amour et de leurs tendresses.
Jeannine fut prédécédée par ses sœurs et ses frères : Elizabeth (Octave) Ouellette, Gertrude (Maurice) Ouellette, Léon (Jean) Aubin, Adrien (Desanges) Aubin, Raymond (Jacqueline) Aubin, et Réjeanne (Sidney) Greig.
Tout au long de sa vie, Jeannine a eu le don de s’entourer de belles et bonnes amies, notamment ses voisines de cinq décennies : les joueuses de cartes du mardi soir; et les sacoches du jeudi soir. Jeannine était une femme qui vivait la vie simplement, mais pleinement, et qui avait tout le temps au monde pour celles et ceux qui ont contribué à son bonheur. Elle nous manquera éternellement.
Jeannine avait un grand engouement pour le temps des Fêtes et elle voudrait qu’on poursuive en célébrant dans un esprit festif et chaleureux.
Nous remercions le personnel du foyer Extendicare Kapuskasing pour leurs délicatesses et leur empathie. Nous invitons les gens qui le souhaitent de faire un don modeste à sa mémoire à la Fondation de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner, un établissement qui lui a offert des soins exceptionnels au cours de sa vie. Le service eucharistique aura lieu au printemps.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jeannine Chainé (née Aubin), at the age of 89 years, on December 23, 2022, at the Extendicare Kapuskasing. She is now finally reunited with her loving husband, Gilles, and her son Michel.
Jeannine leaves in mourning her daughter Francine (Marc Piché) of Kapuskasing and her son Denis (Elizabeth La Forest) of Ottawa. Also surviving Jeannine are her cherished grandchildren: Stéphane Piché and Annabelle Piché (Eric Vachon) of Kapuskasing, Isabelle La Forest-Chainé and Louis La Forest-Chainé of Ottawa, Daniel La Forest of Montreal, and Illiana Rayner of Stayner. She loved adoringly as well her two great-granddaughters: Julia and Mia. Jeannine also leaves in mourning her Chainé family-in-law, for whom she had profound affection, and many nieces and nephews, with whom she had deep bonds, and for whom she is grateful for their love and tenderness.
Jeannine was predeceased by her siblings: Elizabeth (Octave) Ouellette, Gertrude (Maurice) Ouellette, Léon (Jean) Aubin, Adrien (Desanges) Aubin, Raymond (Jacqueline) Aubin, and Réjeanne (Sidney) Greig.
During her life, Jeannine had the gift of surrounding herself with beautiful friends, namely her neighbours of five decades: her Tuesday night card-playing mates, and the Thursday evening group of “satchels”. Jeannine lived life in simplicity, but fully, and had all the time in the world for those who contributed to her happiness. We will miss her eternally.
The holidays were a special time of the year for Jeannine, and she would want all of us to carry on and celebrate them in a festive and warm-hearted way. We express our gratitude to the staff of Extendicare Kapuskasing for their loving and tender care. We invite any interested persons to make modest donations in her memory to the Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation, an institution where she received exceptional care at various times in her life. A funeral service will be held in the spring.
