We regret to announce the death of Jerzy Kowalski on April 10, 2019 at the age of 68 years. He was a gentle, quiet, and friendly man, who was well liked by others. An avid fisherman, gardener and handyman, Jerzy loved nature and the outdoors, so much so, that he created a mini park across from his home to enjoy the river view. A true woodsman, he loved tending his fireplace with wood that he cut and split.

He is survived by his children: Corey Kowalski of Kelowna, and Natasha Kowalski-Gerhart wife of Tristan of Huntsville; his friend, Hélène Leblanc of Kapuskasing; his mother, Janina Kowalski of Kapuskasing; two brothers: Zig and Roman husband of Lisa all of Kapuskasing; four nieces and nephews: Ian, April, Krysta, and Ashley; as well as six great-nieces and great-nephews: Alex, Brooke, Kara, Roman, Wyatt, and Sydney-Jean. He was predeceased by his father, Roman; and one brother, Edward.

Jerzy will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St-Patrick’s Church with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sensenbrenner Hospital CT Scan Fund would be greatly appreciated. ©



Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Jerzy Kowalski le mercredi 10 avril 2019 à l'âge de 68 ans. Il était un homme gentil, tranquille et sociable, qui était bien aimé. Jerzy était un fervent pêcheur et jardinier, de même qu’un homme à tout faire, qui aimait tellement la nature et le plein air qu’il avait créé un mini-parc en face de son domicile afin qu’il puisse s’y assoir et contempler la rivière. Un forestier de tout coeur, il aimait attiser son foyer de bois qu'il avait coupé et fendu lui-même.

Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Corey Kowalski de Kelowna, et Natasha Kowalski-Gerhart épouse de Tristan de Huntsville; son amie, Hélène Leblanc de Kapuskasing; sa mère, Janina Kowalski de Kapuskasing; deux frères: Zig et Roman époux de Lisa, tous de Kapuskasing; un neveu : Ian; trois nièces : April, Krysta, et Ashley; ainsi que six arrière-neveux et arrière-nièces : Alex, Brooke, Kara, Roman, Wyatt, et Sydney-Jean. Il fut prédécédé par son père, Roman; et un frère, Edward.

Jerzy reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le mercredi 22 mai de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h. Un service funéraire aura lieu le jeudi 23 mai à 10h30 en l’Église St-Patrick avec Père Hervé Sauvé comme célébrant. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner pour l’achat d’un tomodensitomètre. ©
