It is with sadness that we announce the death of Joanne Polson (née Sutherland) at the age of 62 years, on June 26, 2021, at the Timmins and District Hospital with her family by her side. Joanne was a very kind-hearted person, who was always willing to help others without asking for anything in return. Family was particularly important to her, and she always loved to attend family gatherings. In her spare time, Joanne enjoyed travelling, playing bingo and going to the casino, as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her children: Jeff Chevrier and Tanya Chevrier both of Hamilton; her grandchildren: Collin Chevrier, Talen Chevrier, Pharoah Jr Tookate, and Kohen Grigalius; her siblings: Archie Sutherland, Sam Sutherland, Mary Jane Boudreau, Susan Sutherland, Clarence Sutherland, Ernest Sutherland, Giaus Napash and Wilfrid Sutherland. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Esther Sutherland; her niece, Jennifer Sutherland; her siblings: Denise Napash, Elizabeth Sutherland, Daisy Sutherland, Pauline Stevens, Elizabeth Nakogee and Joseph Napash.
Joanne Polson will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Guenette Funeral Home with Pastor Margaret Taylor officiating. You can watch the live stream here. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. Donations to Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy. ©

All persons wishing to attend the visitation or the funeral must register their attendance with the funeral home, in advance. You may do so by using the online RSVP feature below, or by sending an email to staffgfh@outlook.com . If you are unable, you may call the funeral home during our regular business hours only, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The maximum number of people allowed at the funeral home is 15, and no gathering is permitted outside. At the cemetery, we are limited to 30 participants. Every person present must wear a suitable mask or other appropriate face covering at all times. Visitors must also clean their hands with hand sanitizer.
No memorial donations or mass cards will be accepted. Please mail all donations directly to Diabetes Canada or make an online donation through our website.
Everyone must follow proper health and safety advice, including physical distancing of two metres for people who are not from the same household or their established 10-person social circle.

C’est avec tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Joanne Polson à l’âge de 62 ans, le 26 juin 2021, à l’Hôpital de Timmins et du District avec sa famille à ses côtés. Joanne était une personne de grand cœur, toujours prête à aider les autres sans rien demander en retour. La famille avait une importance particulière pour Joanne, et elle aimait toujours participer aux rencontres de famille. Dans ses heures de loisir, Joanne prenait plaisir à voyager, jouer au bingo et aller au casino, de même que passer du temps avec ses petits-enfants.
Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Jeff Chevrier et Tanya Chevrier, tous de Hamilton; ses petits-enfants : Collin Chevrier, Talen Chevrier, Pharoah Jr Tookate, et Kohen Grigalius; ses frères et sœurs : Archie Sutherland, Sam Sutherland, Mary Jane Boudreau, Susan Sutherland, Clarence Sutherland, Ernest Sutherland, Giaus Napash et Wilfrid Sutherland. Elle fut prédécédée par ses parents, Joseph et Esther Sutherland; sa nièce, Jennifer Sutherland; ainsi que ses sœurs et son frère : Denise Napash, Elizabeth Sutherland, Daisy Sutherland, Pauline Stevens, Elizabeth Nakogee et Joseph Napash.
Joanne Polson reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le mardi 29 juin, de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h. Le service funéraire aura lieu le mercredi 30 juin à 11h00, à l’Église anglicane St. Mark’s, avec Pasteure Margaret Taylor comme officiante. L’inhumation suivra au Cimetière de Kapuskasing. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons à Diabète Canada comme témoignage de sympathie. ©

Le nombre maximum permis au salon funéraire est 15 personnes et aucun rassemblement n’est permis à l’extérieur. Au cimetière, nous sommes limités à 30 personnes. Toute personne présente doit porter un masque approprié ou autre couvre-visage qui convient en tout temps. Toute personne doit se laver les mains à l'aide d'un désinfectant pour les mains.
Nous n’acceptons pas de dons ni demandes de messes. On peut faire des dons à Diabète Canada sur notre site Web ou en expédiant un chèque directement à la charité.
