Nous regrettons d’annoncer le décès de Laurette Marin, à l’âge de 89 ans, le jeudi 25 janvier 2024, au Manoir North Centennial, deux jours suivant la célébration de son 89e anniversaire de naissance, avec sa famille. Elle était une ancienne membre des Femmes Chrétiennes. Laurette aimait passer l’été à pêcher sur le quai au lac Rémi, camper et jardiner à son site de camping. Elle aimait également jouer aux quilles, regarder le hockey et tous les autres sports à la télévision.

Laurette laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Monique Cloutier, Donald Chartrand de Kapuskasing, Léon Chartrand (Hélène) de Cornwall, et Daniel Chartrand (Cheryl) de Timmins; ses beaux-enfants : Lise Roy (Jacques) de Sault Ste. Marie, Diane Gendron (André), Monique Lepage (feu Gilles), Doris Marchand (Kurtis), Ron Marin (Lynn) de Kapuskasing, Lorraine Huet (Yvon) d’Oshawa, Richard Marin (feue Debbie) de Timmins; ses sœurs et frères : Thérèse Chartrand (feu Sylvio) de Kapuskasing, Alma Chartrand (Camille), Yollande Lemery (O’Neil), Lucien Demers (feue Pauline), Marcel Demers (Raymonde) de Timmins, et Fernand Demers (Rose) d’Aylmer; ainsi que plusieurs petits-enfants, arrière-petits-enfants et un arrière-arrière-petit-enfant.

Laurette fut prédécédé par son époux, O’Neil Marin; ses parents, Elizabeth et Albert Demers; son fils en bas âge, Normand Chartrand; son petit-fils, Mathew Chartrand; sa belle-fille, Linda Cass; ses frères et sœurs : Lucie Chénier, Irène Vien, Armand Demers et Laurent Demers; ainsi que sa belle-sœur, Vera Demers.
Laurette reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le mardi 30 janvier 2024, de 13h00 à 14h45. Le service funéraire suivra à 15h00 à l’église Immaculée-Conception, avec le Père Sébastien Groleau comme officiant. L’inhumation suivra au Cimetière commémoratif de Timmins. La famille tient à remercier le personnel du Manoir North Centennial pour les excellents soins prodigués à leur mère. On sera reconnaissant de dons à l’Hôpital de Timmins et du District, ou le Manoir North Centennial, comme témoignages de sympathie. ©

We regret to announce the death of Laurette Marin, at the age of 89 years, on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at North Centennial Manor, two days after celebrating her 89th birthday with her family. She was a past member of Femmes Chrétiennes. Laurette enjoyed spending her summers fishing off the dock at Remi Lake, camping and gardening at her campsite. She also enjoyed bowling, watching hockey and all other sports on television.

Laurette is survived by her children: Monique Cloutier, Donald Chartrand of Kapuskasing, Léon Chartrand (Hélène) of Cornwall, Daniel Chartrand (Cheryl) of Timmins; her stepchildren: Lise Roy (Jacques) of Sault Ste. Marie, Diane Gendron (André), Monique Lepage (late Gilles), Doris Marchand (Kurtis), Ron Marin (Lynn) of Kapuskasing, Lorraine Huet (Yvon) of Oshawa, Richard Marin (late Debbie) of Timmins; her siblings: Thérèse Chartrand (late Sylvio) of Kapuskasing, Alma Chartrand (Camille), Yollande Lemery (O’Neil), Lucien Demers (late Pauline), Marcel Demers (Raymonde) of Timmins, and Fernand Demers (Rose) of Aylmer; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Laurette was predeceased by her husband O’Neil Marin; her parents, Elizabeth and Albert Demers; her infant son, Normand Chartrand; grandson, Mathew Chartrand; stepdaughter, Linda Cass; siblings, Lucie Chénier, Irène Vien, Armand Demers and Laurent Demers; and her sister in-law, Vera Demers.
Laurette will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Immaculée-Conception church, with Father Sébastien Groleau officiating. Interment will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of North Centennial Manor for the excellent care provided to their mother.
