Obituary for / Nécrologie pour Louis Chartrand
We regret to announce the death of Louis Chartrand, at the age of 90 years, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Sensenbrenner Hospital. In his spare time, Louis enjoyed working on his tractors and tinkering with other mechanical equipment, as well as fishing and gardening. His greatest hobby, however, was his farm; he greatly enjoyed growing potatoes and was known as “Potato Louis.”
Louis will be greatly missed by his children: Marcel of Kapuskasing, Lorraine Chartrand-Morin (Gerry) of Huntsville, Ken (Gerry Martel) of London, and Nancy Chartrand (Tia Aitken) of Toronto; two grandchildren: Donna (John) and Eric (Chelsea); one great-grandson, Arlo; and one sister, Louisette Towe (late Jake) of Rodney.
Louis was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie; his parents, Albert and Albertine; and his siblings: Roland, Roger, Raymond, Jeanne D'Arc, Simonne Bubnick, and Lucienne Duguay.
The family of Louis and Marjorie will receive family and friends at Guenette Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family would greatly appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Special Olympics Ontario as expressions of sympathy. ©
Nous regrettons d’annoncer le décès de Louis Chartrand, à l’âge de 90 ans, le mercredi 12 juillet 2023, à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner. Comme passe-temps, Louis aimait bricoler avec ses tracteurs et autres pièces d’équipement mécanique, ainsi que pêcher et jardiner. Son plus grand passe-temps, cependant, était sa ferme; il aimait beaucoup cultiver des patates et était connu sous le nom de « Louis la patate ».
Louis manquera grandement à ses enfants : Marcel de Kapuskasing, Lorraine Chartrand-Morin (Gerry) de Huntsville, Ken (Gerry Martel) de London, et Nancy Chartrand (Tia Aitken) de Toronto; deux petits-enfants : Donna (John) et Eric (Chelsea); un arrière-petit-fils, Arlo; et une soeur, Louisette Towe (feu Jake) de Rodney.
Louis fut prédécédé par son épouse, Marjorie; ses parents, Albert et Albertine; et ses frères et sœurs : Roland, Roger, Raymond, Jeanne D'Arc, Simonne Bubnick, et Lucienne Duguay.
La famille de Louis et Marjorie accueillera parents et amis au Salon Funéraire Guenette le samedi 2 septembre de 14h00 à 16h00. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons à la Fondation des maladies du cœur ou les Olympiques spéciaux d’Ontario comme témoignages de sympathie. ©
