Obituary for Marie Gagnon (Kosowan)

With profound sadness we announce the death of Marie Gagnon on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 86. She enjoyed travelling, knitting, taking care of her family and cooking. Since 1970, Marie has spent countless hours volunteering for the Sensenbrenner Hospital Auxiliary, holding several positions on the executive. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Service Pin, Life Member of the Sensenbrenner Hospital Auxiliary and in 2000 was awarded the Provincial Hospital Auxiliary Association of Ontario Life Membership. As well, she also served on the Parish Council of St. Mark's church for numerous years. She is survived by her loving husband Bryan of Kapuskasing, her children, Anne-Louise Beach (Jim) of Red Deer, Laurie May (Bill) of Sault Ste. Marie and Eric (Lise) of Kapuskasing, her siblings, Bill Kosowan (Nan) of Toronto and Leo Kosowan (Winnie) of Guelph, two sisters-in-law, Marcelle Kosowan of Kapuskasing and Marla Latham of Timmins, as well as seven grandchildren, Taylor, Jesse, Emily, Justin, Bryanne, Riley and Griffin. She was predeceased by her parents, Gabriel and Orfyna Kosowan, one brother, Earl Kosowan. Marie Gagnon will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Sunday, November 29 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's church with Reverend Valerie Isaac officiating. Spring burial to follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sensenbrenner Hospital Auxiliary or St Mark's Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated. ©

Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Marie Gagnon le jeudi 26 novembre 2015 à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner à l'âge de 86 ans. Elle aimait voyager, tricoter et prendre soin de sa famille. Depuis 1970, Marie a dévoué de nombreuses heures comme bénévole pour l'Auxiliaire de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner, ayant occupé de nombreux postes au sein du comité exécutif. En plus de recevoir l’épingle du mérite pour sa contribution exceptionnelle, elle fut nommée membre à vie de l'Auxiliaire de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner, et elle s’est méritée le titre de membre à vie de du Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario en l’an 2000. Elle laisse pour pleurer sa perte son époux Bryan de Kapuskasing, ses enfants, Anne-Louise Beach (Jim) de Red Deer, Laurie May (Bill) de Sault Ste. Marie et Eric (Lise) de Kapuskasing, ses frères, Bill Kosowan (Nan) de Toronto et Leo Kosowan (Winnie) de Guelph, une belle-soeur, Marcelle Kosowan de Kapuskasing, ainsi que sept petits-enfants, Taylor, Jesse, Emily, Justin, Bryanne, Riley et Griffin. Elle fut prédécédée par ses parents, Gabriel et Orfyna Kosowan, un frère, Earl Kosowan. Marie Gagnon reposera au Salon Funéraire Guenette le dimanche 29 novembre de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h. Le service funèbre aura lieu en l'église St. Mark's à 10h30 le lundi 30 novembre avec la Révérende Valerie Isaac comme célébrante. L'inhumation printanière aura lieu au cimetière de Kapuskasing. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à l'Auxiliaire de l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner ou l'église St. Mark's.
