In the early days of soccer in Kap, Mario was one of its biggest supporters, always ready to help out no matter what was needed of him. He really helped to establish the sport in Kap. Although I have only met Mario twice, my mother loved to talk about her family in Canada and always spoke with such love for her brother Mario and sister Vittoria. We spent many hours when we were younger listening to wonderful stories of Mario the Sailor and Lumberjack and my mother and our family were overjoyed when he last paid a visit to England with Teresa. Condolence: When I was growing up my brothers and I would be real excited when our Zio Mario would come to visit. We’d listen in total amazement and excitement as he’d share stories with our papa about his old navy days and his present work as a lumber jack. Then he’d wrestle with us 3 boys and we’d be in total joy. Those early days would always be a real treat. A few years later he started his own family, and to you, my dear Zia Lucia and cousins Maria, Giuseppe, Luigi and Teresa we offer you our deepest sympathies in this painful time, he will be missed.
