It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Marjorie Ruth Twaddle on Friday, August 6th, 2021, in her 87th year.
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Duncan and Winnifred Twaddle; and her brother, Gordon Twaddle (Florette). She is survived by her brothers: James Duncan Twaddle (Linda), and Richard Twaddle (Barb).
Marjorie was a devoted daughter and proud aunt. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Kathie Grant, Jason Twaddle, Margaret Ann Massong, Daren Twaddle, Tracy Dufour, Todd Twaddle, Aldea Gowsell, Danica Stewart and Justin Twaddle. She was the great-aunt of: Kayla, Heather, Amanda, Samantha, Adam, Andrew, Ian, Josh, Cameron, Monika, Nicole, Breanna, Lindsay, Sheridan, Joshua, Shannon, Randy, Sarah, Marissa, Kailey, Emilyrose, Aidan, and Phoenix.
Marjorie will be remembered for her kind heart, quick wit, beautiful smile, and her generous spirit. She would be quietly pleased when someone noted her resemblance to Queen Elizabeth II, whom she portrayed in Kapuskasing’s 90th anniversary of the monarch’s visit. She had the ability to find interest and joy in the simplest pleasures of life, such as gardening, reading, long road trips, researching her Scottish heritage, her many collections, music, crafting, and needlework. Marjorie, a talented vocalist, truly loved her time as part of the church choir.
Marjorie was a dedicated employee during a lifelong career with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. She was a Member of the Rebekah Lodge; the Order of the Eastern Star; and St. John's Presbyterian Church and Women's Group. As well, she enjoyed giving freely of her time as a volunteer in the community.
Our family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Janet Shedden for her loyal friendship and care, going above and beyond; and to Inez Giasson for her friendship, support and care. Thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at the Manor for your many years of caring for Marjorie; this means so much to a family that lives far away.
Marjorie was an animal lover, who also enjoyed the activities during her care at the Manor. So, we ask that donations be made to Animal Rescue of Kapuskasing or to the North Centennial Manor Family Council as expressions of sympathy.
As per Marjorie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Elle laisse pour pleurer sa perte ses neveux et nièces : Kathie Grant, Jason Twaddle, Margaret Ann Massong, Daren Twaddle, Tracy Dufour, Todd Twaddle, Aldea Gowsell, Danica Stewart et Justin Twaddle. Elle était également la grand-tante de : Kayla, Heather, Amanda, Samantha, Adam, Andrew, Ian, Josh, Cameron, Monika, Nicole, Breanna, Lindsay, Sheridan, Joshua, Shannon, Randy, Sarah, Marissa, Kailey, Emilyrose, Aidan, et Phoenix.
On se souviendra du grand cœur de Marjorie, ainsi que de sa vivacité d’esprit, son beau sourire et son esprit généreux. Marjorie ressentait toujours un plaisir tranquille quand on remarquait sa ressemblance à la Reine Elizabeth II, qu’elle a représentée lors de la célébration du 90e anniversaire de la visite de la monarque. Elle avait le don de trouver de l’intérêt et de la joie dans les plaisirs les plus simples de la vie, tels le jardinage, la lecture, les longs voyages en voiture, la recherche de son héritage écossais, ses nombreuses collections, la musique, le bricolage, et les travaux d’aiguille. Marjorie, une vocaliste talentueuse, adorait vraiment son temps comme membre de la chorale paroissiale.
Marjorie fut une employée dévouée pendant sa carrière à vie avec la Banque Canadienne Impériale de Commerce. Elle était un membre du Rebekah Lodge, du Order of the Eastern Star, de l’église presbytérienne St. John’s et son groupe de femmes. De plus, elle aimait donner librement de son temps comme bénévole dans la communauté.
Notre famille aimerait reconnaître et dire un grand merci à Janet Shedden qui a fait preuve d’amitié loyale et de soins sans pareil; et à Inez Giasson pour son amitié, son appui, et son soutien. Nous remercions les employés et le personnel soignant du Manoir pour toutes les années de soins prodigués à Marjorie; cela compte beaucoup pour sa famille éloignée.
Marjorie était passionnée des animaux, et elle a bien aimé les activités au Manoir pendant son séjour. Donc, nous vous demandons de faire des dons au Refuge d’animaux de Kapuskasing ou au Conseil de famille du Manoir North Centennial, comme témoignage de sympathie.
En respectant les désirs de Marjorie, il n’y aura pas de service funéraire. Elle sera inhumée avec ses parents au Cimetière de Kapuskasing. Un service commémoratif aura lieu à une date ultérieure.
