Obituary for Raymond Harvey

Raymond Harvey
Raymond E. Harvey passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the North Centennial Manor at age 85 with his wife by his side. Ray was a police officer for the Town of Kapuskasing for 30 years and during his tenure held terms as the Police Association President. He loved to read and upon retirement tried his hand at curling and was an avid golfer. He was often seen walking with his faithful companion Shadow and did so as long as he was able. He had a joy of cooking which he often shared with many friends and family. Ray liked to travel and did so for many years but will most fondly be remembered for his recollections of circumnavigating a large portion of North America on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was only seventeen.
He is survived by his wife Clotilde, his children Bob (Tracy) of London, Ernie (Nicole) of Kapuskasing, Leo (Janet) of Ottawa, Louise Aubertin (Raymond) of Kapuskasing, Monique Parent (Marc-André) of Kapuskasing, his sister, Sheila Brideaux of Sault Ste. Marie, as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Ella and Ernest, and siblings, Brian and Len. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Guenette Funeral Home with Reverend Valerie Isaac officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the North Centennial Manor would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the staff at the North Centennial Manor for the care provided while Ray was a resident there. ©
