We regret to announce the death of René “Lil” Boulianne on November 21, 2018 at Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 81 years. René was always a very active person who enjoyed sports, most notably volleyball and hockey, two sports that he both played and coached for many years. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time at his cottage and going fishing. He was also an active member in the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Hey Day committee.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sophie; his children: Shelley Daggett (Michael) of Timmins, and John Paul Boulianne (Ghislaine) of Newmarket; four grandchildren: Sean, Cody, Vanessa, and Shawn-Paul; seven siblings: Suzette, Charlotte, Marie-Paule, Georges, Marc, Benny and Frank; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Georges Paul; his step-mother, Gilberte; and three siblings: Jeannine, Gus and James.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's church with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sensenbrenner Hospital CT Scan Fund would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to René’s brother Frank and his wife Estelle, his dearest friends Armand and Madeleine and the staff of the Continuing Care Unit of Sensenbrenner Hospital. ©



Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de René “Lil” Boulianne le 21 novembre 2018 à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner à l’âge de 81 ans. René était une personne très active qui avait participé aux activités sportives, surtout le volleyball et le hockey, deux sports dont il a joué et a été entraîneur pendant plusieurs années. La famille était très importante pour lui et il adorait passer du temps avec eux, surtout à son chalet ou à la pêche. Il était aussi un membre actif des Chevaliers de Colomb et était membre du comité Hey Day.

Il laisse pour pleurer sa perte, son épouse, Sophie; ses enfants: Shelley Daggett (Michael) de Timmins, et John Paul Boulianne (Ghislaine) de Newmarket; quatre petits-enfants : Sean, Cody, Vanessa, et Shawn-Paul; sept frères et sœurs : Suzette, Charlotte, Marie-Paule, Georges, Marc, Benny et Frank; ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Il fut prédécédé par ses parents, Rose et Georges Paul; sa belle-mère, Gilberte; une sœur, Jeannine et deux frères : Gus et James.

Un service commémoratif aura lieu le samedi 24 novembre à 14h00 à l’église St-Patrick avec Père Hervé Sauvé comme célébrant. La famille sera reconnaissante des dons à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner pour l’achat d’un tomodensitomètre comme témoignage de sympathie.

La famille aimerait dire un grand merci au frère de René, Frank et son épouse Estelle, à ses grands amis Armand et Madeleine, ainsi qu’aux employés du département de soins de longue durée de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner. ©
