We regret to announce the peaceful death of Solange “Sally” Carrière at the age of 84 years, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, surrounded by her children. Sally was a long-time parishioner of St. Patrick’s church and a member of the Golden Age Club. She was always willing to organize events for the Golden Age Club and for her friends in the community room at 32 McPherson. She was also an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and cooking her grandchildren’s favourite recipes.
She is survived by her children: Lise Carrière-Boulianne (André) of Ottawa, Mona Hannah of London, Carole Vezina (Jeff) of Kapuskasing, Billy Jr. (Theresa) of London, and Joanne Wozniak (Randy) of Kapuskasing; thirteen grandchildren: Beau, JJ, Andrew, Tara, Jerica, Nicole, Danielle, Katelyn, Annie, Vincent, Alexandre, Steven, and Jack; one great-granddaughter: Ava; as well as one brother: Raymond Turgeon (Rollande) of Montreal. She will also be missed greatly by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Carrière; her parents, Louis-Philippe and Marie Louise Turgeon; six siblings: Jeanne D'Arc, Irène, Grace, Jean-Paul, Clément and Roger Turgeon.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 1:30 p.m. at Immaculée-Conception church (in accordance with restrictions due to COVID-19), with Father Sébastien Groleau officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Patrick’s Church or Sensenbrenner Hospital would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Lebel, Dr. Handley, Dr. Boucher, and all the nursing staff at the hospital as well as the LHIN staff who took such great care of our mom. ©

All persons wishing to attend the funeral at the church must register their attendance with the funeral home, in advance. You may do so by using the online RSVP feature below, or by sending an email to staffgfh@outlook.com . Otherwise, you may call the funeral home during our regular business hours only, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The maximum number of people allowed at the Immaculée-Conception church is 110, and no gathering is permitted outside. At the cemetery, we are limited to 25 participants. Every person present must wear a suitable mask or other appropriate face covering at all times.
No memorial donations or mass cards will be accepted. Please mail all donations directly to the St-Patrick's Church or the Sensenbrenner Hospital, or make an online donation through our website.
Everyone must follow proper health and safety advice, including physical distancing of two metres for people who are not from the same household or their established 10-person social circle.

Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Solange Carrière à l'âge de 84 ans, le mardi 29 septembre 2020, à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner de Kapuskasing. Sally était paroissienne depuis longtemps de l’église St. Patrick et membre du Club de l’âge d’or. Elle était toujours prête à organiser des activités pour le Club de l’âge d’or et pour ses amis dans la salle communautaire au 32 McPherson. Elle aimait également à jouer au golf avidement, jouer aux cartes – surtout le bridge – et faire la cuisson des recettes préférées de ses petits-enfants.

Aussi, elle manquera grandement à plusieurs neveux, nièces et amies. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux, Bill Carrière; ses parents, Louis-Philippe et Marie Louise Turgeon; six frères et sœurs : Jeanne d'Arc, Irène, Grace, Jean-Paul, Clément et Roger Turgeon.
Le service funéraire aura lieu le vendredi 2 octobre, à 13h30, en l'église Immaculée-Conception (conformément aux restrictions liées à la COVIDE-19), avec Père Sébastien Groleau comme célébrant. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à l’Église St-Patrick ou l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner. La famille aimerait remercier Dr Lebel, Dr Handley, Dr Boucher, et tous les employés de l’hôpital, ainsi que du RLISS pour les soins prodigués à notre mère. ©
