Obituary for William Carrière

William Carrière
We regret to announce the death of William Carrière on July 26, 2016 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 82 years. After working over 40 years for Spruce Falls, William was able to devote much of his time to his greatest passion: playing golf at the Kapuskasing Golf Club where he was a member for numerous years. He was also a very involved grandfather who loved to watch his grandchildren play sports; he was always very proud of their athletic achievements. In his later years, he also took up the sport of curling.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Solange (née Turgeon); his children: Lise Carrière-Boulianne (André) of Ottawa, Mona Hannah of London, Carole Vezina (Jeff) of Kapuskasing, William Jr. (Theresa) of London, and Joanne Wozniak (Randy) of Kapuskasing; thirteen grandchildren: Beau, JJ, Andrew, Tara, Jerica, Nicole, Danielle, Katelyn, Annie, Vincent Alexandre, Steven, and Jack; as well as two sisters: Irene Swain of Kapuskasing, and Claudette Forester of Thornhill; and one brother, Claude Carrière of Kapuskasing. He was predeceased by his parents: Armidas and May Carrière; his siblings: George, Rose, Ernest, and Lilliane.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30th at St. Patrick's at 1:30 p.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. A celebration of William's Life will follow at the Kapuskasing Golf Club from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to KidSport Kapuskasing or the Sensenbrenner Hospital would be greatly appreciated. ©
