We regret to announce the death of Anna Mateev on February 28, 2018 at Sensenbrenner Hospital Kapuskasing at the age of 92 years. She worked as a seamstress for over 30 years at the Sensenbrenner Hospital and was well known for her skills, especially when it came to making or altering wedding dresses and gowns. Sewing was Anna's passion, and she would often make clothing for herself, as well as for her family and friends.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Jeff Mateev, Kirk Mateev, Lynn Mateev, Robert Mateev all of Kapuskasing, Scott Mateev of Mississauga, Danny Mateev of Alberta, June Porter of Mississauga, Nata Mateev of Caledon Village, Simeon Mateev of London, John Williams, Debbi Wesner, Ted Williams, and Didi Williams all of the United-States. She was predeceased by her husbands: Ed Nowak and Moustache Mateev; as well as her son, John Nowak. Anna will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Friday, March 9th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. ©
