Annie Tees
Passed away at North Centennial Manor in Kapuskasing on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Born in Ansonville on July 27th, 1920, Annie was the eldest of eight children of Louise and Michael Bonk. She married Joe Tees in Iroquois Falls in 1939 and shortly thereafter they relocated to Kapuskasing where Joe was the Head Chef at the Kapuskasing Inn. Annie was a homemaker in her early years and was a stay-at-home mom to their three children, Brenda (John) Atcheson of Kitchener, Brian (Margie) of Timmins and Ian (Paulette) of Kapuskasing. She will be fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren; Francine, Dan, (Melissa) Jill, (Dale) Cory, (Angie) Michelle, (Matt) Sean, Tony,(Jennifer) and Lianne (Marc). She was great grandmother to Hailey, Griffin, Isaiah, Katelyn, Madison, Caelen, Carleigh, Nolan and Cooper.

Annie was predeceased by her husband Joe in 1985. She was also predeceased by her sister Olga and her brothers Mike, Walter and Norman. She is survived by one brother Steve of Ottawa and her sisters Julie Racicot of West Palm Beach, Florida and Norma Butler of Iroquois Falls. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Gail Bonk of Newmarket, Pauline Coyne of Sault Ste. Marie and Nonnie Tees of Edmonton, AB, as well as numerous nieces and nephews across Canada and the United States.

After her children had left home, Annie returned to the workforce and was a retail clerk at Robinson’s / Len’s Pharmacy on the Circle for a number of years. In her spare time, she was a very active member of the Kapuskasing United Church, the Rebecca Lodge and the Cancer Survivor’s Group. She was also an avid gardener and member of the Kapuskasing Horticultural Society and on any summer’s day could be found tending to her garden and her raspberry patch.

A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2015, when the flowers bloom. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Guenette Funeral Home on Saturday June, 27th beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at the Kapuskasing United church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Valerie Isaac presiding. Interment will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. If desired, donations in Annie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society which will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff at North Centennial Manor for the care that our mother received over the years.

Rest in peace, Mom
