After a lengthy battle with illness, it is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Arleen Claire Miko at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 82 years. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen and her parents Florence and James Wilson. She will be sadly missed by her son, Mark and her daughter, Tracy (husband Kevin Noble), and grand kitten, Dexter.

A great big thank you goes out to the nurses and support staff on 4 North for the amazing care, kindness and love shown to mom. A heartfelt thank you to Rhonda from pastoral care who was always there to lend support during mom’s final journey. More thanks go out to the nurses and support staff from Bayshore for taking such wonderful care of mom, to Dr. Richardson and the whole Family Health team and to Dr. Petrie and staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre

A very special thank you to Liz Chorkawy. You were the best friend mom could ever ask for and she enjoyed every minute spent with you. Her face would light up when you were with her and you gave her so many good memories.

A private graveside service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arleen can be made to the Ontario SPCA, Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Northeast Cancer Centre Foundation.




C’est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès d’Arleen Claire Miko à l’âge de 82 ans, à l’hôpital Horizon-Santé Nord, à la suite d’une longue maladie. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux Stephen et ses parents Florence et James Wilson. Elle manquera beaucoup à son fils Mark et sa fille Tracy (époux Kevin Noble), et son petit-chaton Dexter.

La famille offre un grand merci au personnel infirmier et au personnel de soutien du 4e Nord pour l’impressionnant éventail de gentillesse, d’amour et de soins prodigués à maman. On remercie du fond du coeur Rhonda, du service de pastorale, qui était toujours présente pour accompagner maman tout au long de son dernier voyage. On offre d’autres remerciements au personnel infirmier et de soutien de Bayshore qui ont si bien pris soin de maman, au Docteur Richardson et toute l’équipe de santé familiale, ainsi que Dr Petrie et le personnel du Centre de cancérologie du Nord-Est.

Des remerciements particuliers à Liz Chorkawy. Tu étais la meilleure amie que maman aurait pu demander, et elle a joui de chaque minute passée avec toi. Son visage s’allumait de joie lorsqu’elle était avec toi et tu lui as donné tant de beaux souvenirs.

Un service privé aura lieu près de la tombe.

Au lieu de fleurs, la famille serait reconnaissante de dons en mémoire d’Arleen à la SPCA Ontario, la Maison McCulloch Hospice ou la Fondation du Centre de cancérologie du Nord-Est.
