Obituary for Gilles "Bima" Godin

Gilles "Bima"  Godin
We regret to announce the death of Gilles Godin (Bima) on May 31, 2015 at the age of 51 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda; his children: Justin (Carissa), and Nicole Lee (Brad) of Fort McMurray; and three grandchildren: Corey, Braxton and Addyson. He is also survived by three brothers: Antonio (Florence) of Sarnia, Arthur of Kapuskasing, and René (Lucie) of Moonbeam; eight sisters: Marguerite Fortier (Gilles) of Kitchener, Thérèse Jean of British Columbia, Simone Hachez (Roger) of Moonbeam, Lise Daoust (Roger) of Kitigan, Noëlla Godin (Sylvain) of Castleman, Cécile Chevalier (Charlie), Lucie Rodrigue (Maurice), and Rachelle Poitras (René) all of Kapuskasing; two sisters-in-law: Marie Godin of Moonbeam, and Bev Benoit (Gilles) of Timmins; one brother-in-law, Raymond Duchaine; his parents-in-law Harry and Sylvia Porter of Newfoundland; as well as many nieces and nephews. Gilles was predeceased by his parents, Yvette (Tremblay) and Nelson Godin, one brother, Jean-Guy; and two sisters: Florence Duchaine and Jeannine Godin. In his spare time, Gilles enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards and board games, hunting and four-wheeling. He was a man who loved his job and to work. He also enjoyed going on trips with his wife Linda.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 10:30 a.m. at St-Patrick's church with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. ©

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 28 ans, Linda; ses enfants: Justin (Carissa), et Nicole Lee (Brad) de Fort McMurray; et trois petits-enfants: Corey, Braxton et Addyson. Il laisse pour pleurer sa perte trois frères: Antonio (Florence) de Sarnia, Arthur de Kapuskasing, et René (Lucie) de Moonbeam; huit soeurs: Marguerite Fortier (Gilles) de Kitchener, Thérèse Jean de British Columbia, Simone Hachez (Roger) de Moonbeam, Lise Daoust (Roger) de Kitigan, Noëlla Godin (Sylvain) de Castleman, Cécile Chevalier (Charlie), Lucie Rodrigue (Maurice), et Rachelle Poitras (René) tous de Kapuskasing; deux belles-soeurs: Marie Godin de Moonbeam, et Bev Benoit (Gilles) de Timmins; un beau-frère, Raymond Duchaine; ses beaux-parents, Harry et Sylvia Porter de Newfoundland; ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Il fut prédécédé par ses parents, Yvette (Tremblay) et Nelson Godin; un frère, Jean-Guy; et deux soeurs: Florence Duchaine et Jeannine Godin. Comme passe-temps, Gilles aimait passer du temps avec ses petits-enfants, jouer aux cartes, la chasse et aller en quatre-roues. Il était un homme qui adorait travailler. Il aimait aussi aller en voyages avec son épouse, Linda.
Un service commémoratif aura lieu le samedi 6 juin à 10h30 en l'église St-Patrick avec Père Hervé Sauvé comme célébrant. L'inhumation suivra au cimetière de Kapuskasing. Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à l'oeuvre de bienfaisance de votre choix. ©
