Condolence: #SendingLove2Donnie#ForeverInOurHearts

To my big brother, who is gone way too soon.

Life sure wasn’t easy, but you made the best of it, I can only imagine the feelings of hurt you carried for so long, no child should have gone thru, but you managed to find your path and made the best of it.

Growing up, you were my hero, the cool brother. Your gruffy bark hiding the big softie hiding inside. From as far back I can remember taking the voyageur bus to spend wkends at nannies, and would follow you around like a puppy talking about the chicken hawk, at 5 yrs old I was terrified but knew you’d protect me if that chicken hawk showed up while st nan’s!

The things you taught me will never be forgotten, like where to stash the stuff you didn’t want mom or nan to find, the eagles were the best band ever, always wear a seatbelt when you’re at the wheel of that trans-am and the time you showed up drunk to teach me how to defend myself, one good kick and you went down and said I was good to go lol.

It took you a long time to settle down with the one who could love you for the beautiful maverick you were. The stars finally aligned to bring you two together.

The tears I’ve shed over your passing could very well fill an ocean, for I would have hoped you would have a chance to truly enjoy life with Aline, retire happy and healthy enjoying the grandkid but we don’t get to decide these things. Just know, Donnie, to me you were never just my step brother, you were my brother in all ways abd I will forever miss you.

Till we meet again bro xo

Condolence: My sincerest condolences to the family. I got to share a house with Don when we worked in Nanisivk and got to know him pretty well. He was the type of man that shared whatever he had. It wasn't uncommon for me to get up at 3AM to find Don wide awake watching TV and we'd get talking about hunting or fishing or his family back in Kap. He was a good man with a big heart that always made me laugh.
