Obituary for Gordon Leslie Wilson

Gordon Leslie Wilson
With profound sadness we announce the death of Gordon Leslie Wilson on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 while vacationing in Cuba. Gord was born and raised in Victoria, B.C. where he attended Lampson St. School, Esquimalt High and then B.C.I.T. (Forestry) leading him to a successful career in the forestry and lumber industry. Gord had a passion for music, especially rock. He also enjoyed his backyard pool and sport fishing. Gord has left a large void in our family and we treasure the time we had with him. Left to mourn his passing are his loving family, wife Carolene of Kapuskasing; daughters Tanya Wilson-Gauthier (Len) of Chapleau and Melissa Wilson-Bouffard (Eric) of Timmins; four grandchildren who adored him: Matthew, Luke, Ryan and Hannah; his parents, Betty and Ken of Victoria, B.C.; one sister, Janet Vallance (Bob) of Victoria, B.C.; one niece, Kirsten Vallance of Victoria, B.C.; his in-laws, Curtis and Hilda Floyd of Williams Lake, B.C.; and two brothers-in-law Paul Floyd and Wayne Floyd of Williams Lake, B.C. A celebration of Gord’s life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Kapuskasing Civic Centre Auditorium at 2:00 p.m. Those of us who knew Gord best will always miss his humour and his love for life. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated. May he always have a song in his heart.
