We regret to announce the death of Gérard Plourde on Tuesday, May 1 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 84. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 60 years and employed at Kap Beverages for 26 years. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, six children, Joanne Kennedy (John), Louise Plourde (Maurice Génier) and Francine Bédard (Michel) of Kapuskasing, Denis (Annie) of Moonbeam, Daniel (Colette) of Timmins and Diane Piché (Michel) of Fort McMurray, one son-in-law, Henry Oliveri of Kapuskasing, two sisters, Rita Plourde of Calgary and Germaine Fortin of Thunder Bay, one sister-in-law, Edith Plourde of Moonbeam, as well as eleven grandchildren, Pat, Jolene, Stéphanie, Pierre, Amélie, Austin, Zackary, Rémi, Donald, Jean-Pierre and Nathalie and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Brigette and Adalynn. He was predeceased by his parents, Delphine and Ernest, three brothers, Edgar, Jean and Valmont. Gérard Plourde will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday May 3rd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4th at the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Burial to follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sensenbrenner Hospital would be greatly appreciated. ©
