To My Aunt Irene

To My Aunt Irene, It’s with a heavy heart that I hear the news of your passing. However, my memories of you will always be what I remember and they are filled with fondness and love. First and foremost will be your giggle. You rarely spoke without it coming through. So much life and so much love. I remember when your bedroom walls displayed the heart shaped boxes of chocolates that Marcel would buy for you. There were a lot of them. He knew his life was blessed when he found you. You then opened up your heart to your two children and my amazing cousins. When I returned to Kapuskasing for a year during high school I remember Kathy trying to teach me how to speak French. We would be in the bedroom lying on the bed with our legs up against the wall. Kathy spent a lot of time giggling listening to my attempts at French. The giggle was obviously a trait handed down from her Mom. So many memories and all of them good. While we now live with fond memories here on earth, I’m sure your laughter and love will be well received by your family members already in heaven. Take care and give my Mom a hug for me when you see her. With much love, Laine.
