We regret to announce the death of J. Marcel Gélinas on Monday, December 27 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 83. He was the Postmaster for Kapuskasing from 1964 to 1984. He is survived by his companion, Céline Therrien, three sons, Pierre husband of Joanne, Gérald husband of Ernestine all of Moonbeanm and René of London, one sister, Cécile Gélinas of Los Angeles, one brother, Rémi husband of Bibianne of Gatineau, two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Gélinas of Timmins and Marie Gélinas of Ottawa, as well as ten grandchildren, Michelle, Yvon, Mélanie, Éric, Chantal, Yves, Sylvie, Alain, Danielle and René Jr., twenty great grandchildren, Mathieu, Jonathan, Jason, Nicholas, Jesse, Savannah, Jean-Francois, Jean-Luc, Kyle, Mégan, Kayla, Emery, Miguel, Graydon, Jakob, Alexandre, Gabrielle, Patrick, Madysen, Camren and one great great granddaughter, Kyana. He was predeceased by his wife, Fabiola, one sister, Thérèse Charette, four brothers, André, Jean-Paul, Gaston and Laurier. A memorial service will be held February 12, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Immaculée-Conception church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Burial to follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery.
