Life Story for
Jean-Guy "John" Dubien
We regret to announce the death of Jean-Guy “John” Dubien on August 8, 2010 at Sensenbrenner Hospital Kapuskasing at the age of 71 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, La Forge and was a life member of the Kinsmen Club. He worked at Charlie's Men's Wear then became the owner of John Dubien's Clothes for Men in Cochrane and Kapuskasing. He also owned Workworld, Mark's Work Wearhouse and Tim Horton's in Cochrane. He was also a member of the Town Council. He enjoyed golfing, camping, travelling and four-wheeling. He is survived by his spouse Lynn Bélanger; three daughters: Karen of Sudbury, Cindy and Mylène both of Kapuskasing; and one son, Kevin of Kapuskasing. He is also survived by two brothers: Gaston husband of Colette of Midland and Conrad husband of Lise of Sudbury; four sisters: Pauline Piché of North Bay, Jeannine Girard wife of Denis-Paul of Cochrane, Aline Pitcher wife of James of Sudbury and Huguette Yule wife of George of Lindsay; as well as three grandchildren: Cathan, Tiffany and Kelsy. He was predeceased by his parents Léo and Florence of Cochrane and one brother, William (Bill). John will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12th at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculée-Conception parish with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Cremation was held at the Hillcrest Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Northern Corridor Children’s Fund would be greatly appreciated.
