Life Story for Jean-Élie Bélanger

We regret to announce the death of Jean-Élie Bélanger on April 11, 2010 at Sensenbrenner Hospital Kapuskasing at the age of 80 years. He was an honorary member of La Forge. He worked at Spruce Falls, took care of John Dubien's buildings as well as children from the Children's Aid Society, and enjoyed picking wild fruits, gardening, hunting and woodworking. He is survived by 3 sons: Michel of Sault-Ste-Marie. Ronald partner of Angie Gagnon, Renaud husband of France all of Kapuskasing; six daughters: Mona Comeau wife of Henri, Lynn Bélanger-Dubien wife of John, Paulette King wife of Ron all of Kapuskasing, Suzanne Labelle of Cornwall, Linda Bélanger wife of Marc Landry of Gatineau, Linda Nolet wife of Bertrand of Timmins; 5 sisters: Béatrice Poirier of Caplan, Marie-Paule Robichaud of Timmins, Marie-Marthe Bélanger of Rimouski, Elianne Robichaud of Caplan, Gemma Bélanger of Québec; 4 brothers: François of Timmins, Eugène of Rimouski, Gérard of Caplan, Gilde of Caplan as well as 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and his dog, Cocotte. He was predeceased by his wife Thérèse, 1 brother Marcel and his parents. Jean-Élie Bélanger will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Sunday April 18 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday April 19th at Immaculée-Conception Church at 10:30 AM with Father Louis-Philippe Bélanger officiating. Cremation was held at the Hillcrest Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Northern Corridor Children’s Fund or Sensenbrenner Hospital, Respiratory Department would be greatly appreciated.
