We regret to announce the death of Laurette Fortier on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Extendicare Kapuskasing at the age of 85. She is survived by four daughters, Marielle Desrosiers and Lilas Fortier all of Ottawa, Edith St-Louis wife of Fernand of Kapuskasing and Line Determann wife of Kurt of Florida, six sons, Guy husband of Nicole, Léger husband of Beverly, Jean, Gilbert husband of Johanne, Yvon husband of Denise and Gaëtan husband of Diane all of Kapuskasing, four sisters, Lorraine Bernard, Anne-Marie Pauzé, Diane Beaulieu and Bella Rodrigue all of Kapuskasing, one brother, Harry Bernard of Kapuskasing, as well as 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Léo Paul, one son, Alain, four brothers and three sisters.

Laurette Fortier will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1st from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2nd at the Immaculée-Conception church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Spring burial to follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
