We regret to announce the death of Lorraine Poitras on Monday, February 21 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 63. She was a member of l'UCFO and enjoyed making arts and crafts. She is survived by two daughters, Mona Poitras-Blair wife of John of Chesley and Lily Vallance wife of Brian of London, five siblings, Georges Génier husband of Lise of Kapuskasing, Normand Génier husband of Carole of Moonbeam, Dianne Lively wife of Gordon of New Liskeard, Thérèse Génier of Ottawa and Ginette Génier of St-Eustache, as well as three grandchildren, Pascal, Jamie and Cooper, one great-granddaughter, Amelia. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolland Poitras, her parents, Roland and Joséphine Génier, one brother, Claude Génier. Lorraine Poitras will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24th at the Immaculée-Conception church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
