Passed away on November 15, 2002
We regret to announce the death of Michael Whelan on Friday November 15, 2002 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing at the age of 55 years. He was a member of St Joseph's Church in Bowmanville and enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, driving, and playing guitar and the piano. He was described as having a thirst for knowledge and a very good sense of humour. He was pre-deceased by his father Michael Francis in 1974. Michael Whelan is survived by his spouse Donna Wells of Bowmanville his mother Stella Coleman of Kapuskasing, three daughters: Jennifer Carey (Brent), Kimberly Whelan (Ted) and Joanne St. Amant (Danny) all of Thunder Bay, two step-daughters, Christine Clark (Jordan), Lindsay Clark(John) both of Whitby, three sisters: Louise Schmidt (Fred), Kellie Charlesbois (Mike), both of Kapuskasing, Patricia Belisle (Syl) of Timmins, six brothers: Stephen (Theresa) Randy (Jaquei), Jeffrey (Bea), Smitty (Zelia) all of Edmonton, Darrell(Melanie) of Houston B.C., Tim of Orillia, five grandchildren: Brittany, Aiden, Megan, Melanie, and Keegan as well as many nephews and nieces. Funeral service was held on Monday November 18th, 2002 at the St Patrick's Church, Kapuskasing with Father Roger Pronovost officiating. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or masses to St Patrick's Church would be greatly appreciated.
