We regret to announce the death of M.J. Laforce on Thursday, May 10 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital after a six year battle with carcinoid cancer. His family and friends always came first. He enjoyed watching and playing hockey, gardening, woodworking, riding his motorcycle and bird watching. He was the Purchasing Manager at URS. He was the coach for the Hearst Les Élans hockey club when they won the 1994 all Ontario championship. He is survived by his wife Marylin, two children, Jason (Crystal) of Kapuskasing and Julie Laforce of Sault Ste. Marie, his mother, Mary Laforce of Kapuskasing, four brothers, Jim (Charlotte) of Kingsville, Tony (Louise) of Timmins, Barry (Lise) of London and Tommy (Rachel) of Kapuskasing, his aunt, Ruth Jennings of Iroquois Falls as well as his favorite companions, Jack, Tiger and Abby. He was predeceased by father, Joseph. Respecting M.J.’s wishes, there will be no service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sensenbrenner Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
