We regret to announce the death of Odina Chainey on Tuesday, February 21 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife Cécile, three daughters, Rachel Desrochers wife of Gérald, Gisèle Lambert wife of Mark of Kapuskasing and Johanne Chainey of Thunder Bay, three sisters, Gertrude Lapierre wife of Julien of Ottawa, Grace McLaughlin wife of Fred of Montreal and Ida Savard wife of Jean-Marc of Kapuskasing, two brothers, Armand husband of Evelyne and Raymond husband of Rita of Kapuskasing as well as four grandchildren, Stéphane, Julie, Jessica and Megan. He was predeceased by one sister, Rita Cayouette. Odina Chainey will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24th at the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church at 2:30 p.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Spring burial to follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
