Condolences

Condolence From: Brenda Cote
Condolence: Andrea, I was deeply saddened when I learned of your dad's passing. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him in Temagami. How lucky I was to have had a visit from him when he made a quick stop in North Bay (with the dogs) while enroute to Kapuskasing last year. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. Brenda

Condolence: Even though I briefly knew Rene while working at the MNR in Peterborough, I could see the impact he had on his co-workers, and his great appreciation for life and family. He instructed my NRVIS training, and was always helpful in solving a technical issue. He will be dearly missed by all with whom encountered his great sense of humour.

Condolence: Hello, I met Rene in Lindsay on the GIS course. He always made me laugh and smile. That first semester we were all so scared about exams and Rene with his crazy sense of humour reminded all of us that he was the oldest, it had been longer since he had written an exam....so it was really bad for him. There are four or five of us who took that course together and feel a bond because of it. That bond was strengthened during my many phone calls to the NRVIS support desk. Rene was a beautiful, thoughtful and very funny man. I will miss him. My thoughts are with you and I hope as time passes you are flooded with memories.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear about Rene. I've known Rene a long time and worked with him pretty closely for much of that time. He was always a good and loyal friend. It feels like a big loss to me as I know it is to a lot of people who worked with him. As I've seen other people write, it was true that he talked about his family a lot and was so proud of Andrea and his mother. Rene leaves a big hole around here, he's one of those originals that can't be replaced, and he sure has been missed.

Condolence: My sincerest condolences to the Blier family. I have nothing but fond memories of my time working with him when I first started in MNR in the late ‘80’s. He was brutally honest and had a tremendous sense of humour. Most of all, he was a kind-hearted gentleman who was just a joy to be around. He was taken much too soon and will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to Rene's family and friends. Rene is sadly missed around the MNR office. I first met Rene when he worked in Parry Sound and had the pleasure of working with him on a close knit team in Peterborough. I remember the day I moved offices near Rene and he went out of his way to welcome and help me get setup - such a big heart. His laughter was incredible and he left everyone that he knew with fond memories. Rest in peace Rene.

Condolence: I will always remember Rene as a very charismatic and energetic man with a very distinctive voice. Although we both worked for MNR, I had only met Rene a few times at Showcase or at conferences because we worked in different cities. I got to know Rene when he was the LIO Help at the time when LIO was first launched and I probably called him everyday to log a ticket to tell him something was wrong. He was always friendly and helpful and lent an ear to my complaints. He was very special to all his family, friends and colleagues; he will be missed.
