Obituary for Robert "Bob" Baker

Robert "Bob" Baker
It’s with great sadness that family and friends of Bob Baker announce his unexpected passing on Thursday, May 7th, at the tender age of 55. A true adventurist, Bob was happiest when spending time with friends and family, snowmobiling in the northern wilderness, motorcycling through countless states and provinces; or hunting, fishing and quadding at his cottage in Gowganda; and exploring the world as an avid traveler to hundreds of destinations.

Born and raised in Kapuskasing, Bob called Petrolia home, where he was the successful franchise owner of three Tim Horton’s outlets and a respected member of the community of Lambton County.

Bob loved to dine and in his younger days even cook, while telling stories over a glass of red wine or his favourite scotch. He was a true friend and a rare find: if you were lucky enough to be part of his circle, you were a friend for life.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Art and Diane Baker and brother Don. Beloved baby brother of Margaret Baker (Jean Soublière), Morris Baker (Renée) and uncle to Jim Baker (Michelle) and great nieces Addison, Trixie and nephew Aaden. He will be missed forever.

Bob had a larger than life personality and will be genuinely missed by all, especially his two sons, Jake Beaudrow (Toonna) and Aaron Beaudrow; nephews who he loved as his own: Jason Baker (Renée) and Gilles Soublière (Suzanne); great nieces Madyx and Brinley; and his love Rhonda Reimer and their pups Darby and Fred; as well as his “brothers” Gerald and Wayne Doré, who have all shared so many fantastic adventures with their much-loved Bob.

Left to cherish the memories of his sincere and genuine friendship are Ken (Barney) Barnes, Glenn Granlund, John and Glenda Gibbons, Kevin Dubien, Pete Lowery, Steve Hull, Jake Baizana, Don and Beth Douglas, Roy and Cindy Juschka, Don Morrice and far too many more to be listed.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date due to the current pandemic.

Donations in his memory can be made to London Health Sciences Centre - Cardiac Unit and/or Lambton County Developmental Services.
