We regret to announce the death of Stella Coleman on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing at the age of 86. She enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, shopping and knitting. She is survived by nine children, Barbara-Louise Schmidt (Manfred) and Kellie Charlebois (Mike) of Kapuskasing, Patricia Belisle (Syl) of Timmins, Stephen Whelan (Theresa), Randy Whelan (Jacquei) and Chris Whelan (Sandy) of Edmonton, Jeffrey Whelan (Bea) of Burlington, Darrell Whelan (Melanie) of Houston, B.C. and Tim Whelan of Bowden, Alberta, two sisters, Betty of Oklahoma and Barbara of Montreal, one brother, Don of Newfoundland, as well as twenty four grandchildren and thirty one great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Minnie and James Kearley, one son, Michael Whelan, three sisters, Winnie, Fan and Beatrice, one brother, Harold. Stella Coleman will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Monday, January 23rd from 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at St Patrick's church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Spring burial to follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Northern Corridor Children's Fund would be greatly appreciated.
