Life Story for Violet Daisy Morley

Violet Daisy Morley
We regret to announce the death of Violet Daisy Morley of Kapuskasing on March 23, 2010 at the age of 99 years. Born April 24, 1910 in London, England, Violet spent the first part of her life in England, where she worked at a laundry and cleaning service and had a son, Derrick Milne. During World War II, she established a correspondence with the Morley family of Kapuskasing who sent packages and letters to British soldiers and their families, like many other Canadian families did during the war.

In 1964, Violet immigrated to Canada and married A.E. Morley of Kapuskasing. She worked in the home and enjoyed gardening, knitting, and lawn bowling. In her final years, she resided at North Centennial Manor, whose caring, compassionate staff she adored.

She was predeceased by her husband, A.E. Morley; her brother, Sidney Todd; three stepdaughters: Phyllis Madill, Dorothy Kerr and Iris Matakovich; and by two step-grandchildren. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to North Centennial Manor or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
