We regret to announce the death of Yvan Cote on October 23, 2011 at Sensenbrenner Hospital Kapuskasing at the age of 73 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at the cottage, playing cards, hockey and curling. He was an active volunteer with various organizations; was a past president of the Rotary Club of Kapuskasing, where he was a Paul Harris Award recipient; was a Sensenbrenner Hospital Executive Board member, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also acknowledged by the Kapuskasing and District Chamber of Commerce for his many years as a business owner. He is survived by his wife, Laura; four children: Dina Minaker wife of Gerald, Mark companion of Anne Johnson, Perry companion of Nicole Néron and Paul companion of Amy-Lee Plamondon all of Kapuskasing; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Dave, Maya, Steven, Lana, Tyson and Isabella; one great-grandchild on the way; as well as four brothers and sisters: René Cote of Quebec; Lyette Maltais of Cochrane, Alice Palangio of Cochrane and Paulette Wyskin of Prince George, BC. He was predeceased by his parents, Léo and Annette Cote and one brother, Conrad. Yvan Cote will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28th at St-Patrick Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
